Depositing Checks to Your Managed Account
When you wish to make a deposit by check to one of your GFC-managed brokerage accounts, please send the check directly to your Custodian. We will notify you via email when we see the deposit posted to your account. If you'd like, send us an email letting us know that a deposit is on the way.
Fill Out and Sign Your Check
- Make check payable to either "Fidelity Investments" or "Charles Schwab & Co."
- You may also deposit a check that is already made out to you, as long as you are an account holder or trustee
- Write your brokerage account number in the Memo field
- On the back of the check, write "For Deposit Only to Fidelity/Schwab, FBO Account #<your account number>"
- For an IRA contribution, note in the Memo field whether it is a prior year or current year contribution
Mailing Instructions
- Let us know if you would like us to send you some pre-printed, postage paid deposit envelopes
- Mail the check to one of the addresses above
The following types of checks are not accepted:
- Altered checks
- Third party checks
- Checks drawn on foreign banks
- Foreign denominated checks
- Post dated checks
- Stale dated checks, i.e. older than 180 days
- Traveler's checks
- Money orders
- Unsigned checks
